ESI includes are used to compose shared parts of the page across teams. The header, for example, is itself an ESI include assembled from further ESI fragments – allowing individual parts to be updated independently.
Unlike regular design system components – which are delivered and rendered as part of the consuming application – ESI includes are resolved at the infrastructure level. They are invisible to the browser and behave like static markup once assembled.
