OTTO Design System

OTTO and the Otto Group compared: voice, annual reports, PDFs, Brand Hub, logos, websites and photography.

Official, current material from OTTO, the retailer, and the Otto Group, the holding: annual reports, logos, photography, websites and the brand rules both publish. Everything here was collected in September 2026, and each page names its sources.

What matters most

  1. Two brands, two systems. OTTO (otto.de) speaks with OTTO Sans and OTTO Sans KO Black, OTTO red #EB001F, the „du" voice and the bold italic wordmark. The design system on this site is OTTO's. The Otto Group (ottogroup.com) uses Optimist by Newglyph, red #F00020, pastel panels, headlines in outline and solid, the lowercase „otto group" wordmark and a „wir" or third-person voice.
  2. OTTO for customers, Otto Group for the group. Anything a customer, seller or OTTO employee sees from OTTO is in the OTTO style. The Otto Group style is reserved for group-level reports, finance, strategy and group HR. The two wordmarks never appear together as senders.
  3. The current report. Otto Group Annual Report 2025/26, „Our future: powered by people and tech", published 28 May 2026: revenue EUR 13.8 bn, EBIT EUR 641 m, 34,831 employees, About You sold. OTTO: revenue about EUR 4.8 bn (+8 %), GMV about EUR 7.5 bn, 12.6 m active customers.
  4. OTTO's public Brand Hub sets the binding logo, colour and type rules, summarised on the Brand Hub page: logo only in red or white (never black), red at most 30 % of an area, headlines only red on light or white on dark, never all caps, OTTO Play only for campaign headlines.
  5. PDF recipes for both brands, with sizes, grid and colours, are on the PDF style page.
